Custom Injection-Molded Parts for Industrial Equipment

ABERY develops injection molds and produces plastic housings, enclosures and functional components for industrial OEMs. We review operating temperature, mechanical load, chemical exposure, electrical requirements, mating features and annual volume before defining the resin, tooling and inspection plan.

Industrial Project Requirements

What Industrial OEMs Need From a Molding Supplier

Industrial components are specified around function, environment and service life—not material names alone. A reliable manufacturing plan connects the part requirements with the resin grade, mold construction, molding process and inspection method.

Application-Defined Material Selection

Resin selection should reflect the actual operating temperature, load, chemicals, wear, electrical performance, UV exposure, flame requirements and expected service conditions. ABERY can review candidate materials with your engineering team; final material approval remains with the customer.

Serviceable Production Tooling

Tool steel, hardness, cavity count, surface treatment, replaceable inserts and maintenance intervals should be defined around the resin, part geometry, annual volume and expected program life. Tool life is confirmed in the quotation and tooling specification—not assumed from steel grade alone.

Critical-Feature Inspection and Records

Mating surfaces, sealing features, bores, threads, snap fits and other CTQs require agreed tolerances and measurement methods. Inspection reports, material records and process data are supplied according to the approved quality plan.

Mold and Molding Support for Industrial OEM Programs

1. Engineering-Resin DFM Support

We review wall thickness, ribs, bosses, draft, gate location, weld lines, shrinkage, glass-fiber orientation, ejection and cosmetic requirements before tooling. Material recommendations are based on customer-supplied performance requirements and exact grade data.

2. Large-Part Tooling and Molding Assessment

For large housings, panels and structural parts, we evaluate projected area, required clamp force, shot size, mold dimensions, tie-bar spacing and handling requirements before confirming machine fit.
Our in-house injection molding range extends up to 1,600 tons. Final machine selection is confirmed after reviewing the part and mold data.

3. Production Tooling and Maintenance Planning

Mold construction is specified for the approved resin, surface requirement, production volume and maintenance plan. Quotations can define the mold steel, heat treatment, expected service scope, spare inserts, preventive maintenance and repair responsibility.

4. Inspection and Production Records

First-article and production inspection can cover agreed CTQs using appropriate equipment. CMM reports, dimensional layouts, material records, SPC data and other documentation are available when specified in the project quality plan.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q What engineering plastics can ABERY process for industrial components?

    A

We process a range of engineering thermoplastics and filled grades, which may include PA, PC, PBT, POM, PPS, PEEK, LCP and PPO/PPE families. Capability must be confirmed for the exact supplier grade, filler content, color, annual volume, part geometry and performance requirements. Your engineering team retains final material approval.

  • Q How do you define mold life for a production program?

    A

Expected mold life is defined project by project. We consider the approved resin, filler content, mold steel and hardness, cavity design, surface finish, cycle conditions, production location and preventive-maintenance plan. The quotation should state the expected service scope, maintenance responsibility, wear exclusions and warranty terms.

  • Q What information is required to evaluate a large molded part?

    A

Please provide 3D CAD, a 2D drawing, resin grade, part weight, annual volume and critical requirements. We evaluate projected area, estimated cavity pressure, shot size, mold dimensions, tie-bar spacing, clamp force, handling and inspection access before confirming machine compatibility.

  • Q Can you mold components using UL 94 V-0 materials?

    A

Yes, subject to review of the exact resin grade. UL 94 classifications apply to specified material records and recognized conditions such as thickness and color. We can retain supplier material documentation when required, while final component and end-product compliance remains the customer's responsibility.

  • Q What inspection and production documents can you provide?

    A

Documentation is defined in the approved quality plan and may include first-article inspection, dimensional reports, material certificates or lot records, process parameters, SPC data for agreed CTQs, appearance standards and shipment inspection records. Please identify mandatory documents in the RFQ.
