How ABERY Manages an Integrated Project

The exact workflow and deliverables are defined in the quotation and project quality plan. The sequence below shows the typical approval points from RFQ through repeat production.
Step 01

RFQ and Scope Review

We review the available CAD, drawings, resin, forecast volume, tolerances, appearance, functional requirements, documentation and preferred production location. We normally acknowledge qualified RFQs within three business hours and identify missing inputs.
Step 02

Preliminary DFM and Risk Discussion

The quotation-stage review identifies major manufacturability risks such as wall thickness, draft, undercuts, parting lines, gate considerations, sink and visible surfaces. Detailed analysis and final mold decisions follow the agreed project scope.
Step 03

Quotation and Technical Agreement

The quotation defines the mold specification, ownership, production location, sample quantity, inspection scope, optional services, estimated timing, payment terms, exclusions and change process.
 
 
Step 04

Mold Design and Agreed Analysis

ABERY prepares the mold design for customer review before steel cutting. Mold-flow, warpage, cooling or other CAE analysis is performed when required by part risk or included in the approved scope.
 
Step 05

Toolmaking and Stage Inspection

CNC, EDM, WEDM and other approved operations are completed according to the mold plan. Key steel, electrode, component and mold dimensions are inspected at defined stages using appropriate equipment.
 
Step 06

T1 Trial and Corrective Actions

The first trial is run under recorded conditions and samples are reviewed against the agreed requirements. Mold-workmanship corrections within the approved design are handled according to the tooling agreement; design changes and new requirements follow the change process.
Step 07

Production Approval and Validation Support

Before production release, the parties agree on the required dimensional, material, appearance, functional and process evidence. FAI, capability studies, control plans, PPAP elements or other documents are supplied only when specified and confirmed for the project.
 
Step 08

Repeat Production and Change Control

Production follows the approved sample, process and inspection plan. Tool maintenance, lot records, nonconformance handling and engineering changes are managed according to the agreed program requirements.

  • Q Can ABERY support PPAP or automotive customer documentation?

    A

    ABERY is ISO 9001:2015 certified and is not currently certified to IATF 16949. For qualified projects, we can support agreed PPAP elements and customer-specific records when the scope, submission level, templates, timing and approval responsibilities are defined during quotation.

  • Q How long does it take to build an injection mold?

    A

    Lead time depends on mold size, cavities, slides, lifters, hot-runner requirements, steel and component availability, texture, inspection scope and customer approval timing. The schedule begins after the mold specification and design inputs are approved, and the confirmed milestones are stated in the quotation.

  • Q What is the minimum production quantity?

    A

    MOQ is project-specific. Resin purchasing, machine setup, cycle time, color, secondary operations, inspection and packaging all affect the practical minimum and unit cost. Please provide your pilot quantity and annual forecast so we can compare suitable options.

  • Q Can the mold be shipped to my production facility?

    A

    Yes, when export tooling is included in the agreement. We can provide the agreed mold documents, sample records and shipment support. The receiving facility should complete incoming inspection, machine setup, trial and approval because its equipment and process conditions may differ from those used at ABERY.

  • Q What happens if the first trial samples do not meet the requirements?

    A

    We review the results against the approved DFM, mold design, drawing, resin and acceptance criteria. Corrections caused by confirmed mold workmanship are handled according to the tooling agreement. Product-design changes, new requirements or customer-directed changes are documented and quoted through the agreed change process.
